Whole grains are big news these days. Not only are more people adding them to their diets, but restaurants are increasingly adding them to menus. There’s no arguing that whole grains are a hot trend! What better time to dig into them than Whole Grains Month?
Whole Grains Month, celebrated every September, is designed to showcase the flavor and health benefits of whole grains. If you’re new to the variety of grains and whole grain products now available, be on the lookout throughout the month for tips and recipes that can get you started with these nutritious ingredients. If you’re looking for new ways to add whole grains to your diet, you’re sure to find a new recipe or grain this month that will wow your taste buds.
Throughout the year, the Whole Grains Council shares a wealth of information and ideas to help us all add more whole grains to our diet. This month, they’re taking it one step further. To help celebrate this tasty month, the Whole Grains Council is bringing back Good Grains for a Good Cause. The campaign gives people the chance to nominate a food-related charity (such as a food pantry or soup kitchen) to win cases of donated whole grain foods. It’s a great opportunity to make a positive impact in your community!
Don’t stop there, though. Once you’ve nominated your favorite food-related charity, test your whole grain knowledge with the “Guess the Grains” quiz. It may not be as easy as you think.
Be sure to join the conversation throughout Whole Grains Month using #WholeGrainsMonth and #showustheStamp on social media when you share your tips, recipes and whole grain finds away from home.
