Diet soda is ok in moderation, one a day or every other day. It is definitely not a nutritious beverage choice, meaning it does not have calcium like skim milk or vitamin C like 100% juice. However, it is calorie free or low calorie which is helpful in terms of weight loss purposes if you enjoy the taste. Alternatives would include herbal iced teas or flavored sparkling waters.
