The Lowry: Healthy Dining Meets the Diner

This “urban diner” serves old favorites with a new twist along with a whole new brand of comfort food.

Healthy Food

Favorite diners can be central in a community.  They may be the restaurant where we relax with friends and family over familiar and tasty food or the restaurant where we share a dessert on a first date, or maybe even the restaurant where we start new traditions with the kids over a weekend breakfast.  The Lowry, one of the restaurants of the Blue Plate Restaurant Group, aims to be that restaurant and more!  This “urban diner” serves old favorites with a new twist along with a whole new brand of comfort food.  Pair this with its Healthy Dining and Kids LiveWell menu choices, and you have a prime dining destination in uptown Minneapolis.

The Lowry is a good choice for any occasion.  Catching up with friends over a late breakfast?  Order the Egg White Scramble with oven-dried tomato, fresh herbs, portabella mushroom, green beans and fruit.  The Scramble’s 330 calories and 2 cups of fruits and veggies will get your day started on the right foot with both nutrition and flavor.

Is a family lunch or dinner on the schedule?  Try the Roasted Vegetable Salad or Fish Tacos.  Both have at least 1½ cups of veggies for a wide array of vitamins and minerals plus diet-friendly fiber.  The tough choice is deciding what you’re in the mood for:  blackened tilapia, avocado, black bean & corn salsa and Napa cabbage or zucchini, eggplant, beets, arugula and balsamic with extra virgin olive oil.

For the kids, old favorites are always on the menu with the Kids LiveWell Kids’ Spaghetti served with cheesy bread, carrot sticks and ranch dressing and Kids’ Grilled Chicken served with a small green salad with ranch dressing & carrot sticks.  Both are tasty ways to entice kids to eat healthy.

Next time you’re in Minneapolis and looking for a new favorite restaurant, stop by The Lowry for Healthy Dining-approved diner food with a modern twist.
