The July-August 2015 MORE magazine is now on newsstands, and we couldn’t be more excited! Not only is this issue guest-edited by First Lady Michelle Obama, but it is also packed cover to cover with stories about inspiring women driving change in the world. This includes Healthy Dining’s very own president and founder, Anita Jones-Mueller, M.P.H.
In MORE‘s “Women Working Wonders” feature about five “crusaders” who are making an impact on “giant barriers” facing this generation of children, Jones-Mueller is interviewed about Healthy Dining’s contribution to a healthier America. “It is an honor to be included in this historic issue and to be recognized by the First Lady and MORE magazine for our team’s efforts in inspiring restaurants to offer great tasting, healthier cuisine,” says Jones-Mueller.
The MORE article, written by Virginia Sole-Smith, profiles Jones-Mueller, whose passion for nutrition began at the age of ten, when her dad went on a diet. As described in the article, “It was her job to help him count his calories for the day. She still does the same job – only now it’s for 300 restaurant brands in 60,000 locations across the United States.”
Healthy Dining’s web and mobile site, HealthyDiningFinder.com, is the largest ever search engine and inspirational source to help Americans find the best restaurant choices for healthy lifestyles. In partnership with the National Restaurant Association, the Kids LiveWell platform featured on the site showcases healthful menu options for children.
“MORE is a magazine for women who want to do more with their lives, which is why we’ve made this the MORE “Impact” issue,” says Lesley Jane Seymour, the magazine’s editor in chief. “The First Lady always asks how her initiatives—Let’s Move, Joining Forces, Reach Higher and Let Girls Learn—are moving the needle and having more impact on the world. We hope this issue will empower readers to create positive change, whether by supporting one of the First Lady’s programs or another cause.”
