It had been a hectic week. Family was in town for the 4th of July holiday, and grocery shopping just didn’t get done. In addition to having an empty fridge, it was an uncharacteristically gloomy summer day here in San Diego, so my husband Logan, and I decided to give ourselves a break from cooking for the evening and headed to our local Boston Market for dinner.
The smell of the holiday’s wafts through the air when you enter Boston Market, and the aroma of slow roasted turkey and chicken makes your mouth water. The staff was extremely welcoming, allowing us to feel right at home. I decided to go for the complete Thanksgiving theme and ordered the Quarter Rotisserie White Meat Chicken, with Steamed Veggies and Vegetable Stuffing for my side options. I requested the gravy on the side, so I could decide how much to use, and I removed the skin from the chicken breast when it came to the table. My husband considers himself somewhat of a sandwich connoisseur, so he ordered the Roasted Turkey and Swiss Carver Sandwich on a multi-grain artisan roll, saving half for his lunch the next day. We also ordered a side of the Cinnamon Apples for dessert.
My chicken was incredibly moist and flavorful. The vegetables were tender but still slightly crisp, and the stuffing reminded me of Grandma’s. What Logan loves most about Thanksgiving is the leftover turkey sandwiches the next few days; he was so impressed with his sandwich, I was barely able to sneak a bite! The slow-roasted turkey was delicious, and the multi-grain artisan bread truly made this sandwich exceptional. We both have a sweet-tooth, so the cinnamon apples really hit the spot for dessert. They tasted just like apple pie filling! It was a perfect dessert to end our faux holiday meal.
Logan and I both agreed that we shouldn’t just save these holiday flavors just for Thanksgiving Day. Thankfully, Boston Market offers delicious Healthy Dining options, making it easy to have a holiday meal anytime of the year that tastes just like home-made!
